Travel

Fly

The closest airport is Miami International Airport (MIA), which is a 15-minute drive away from the venue. Another option is the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), which is about a 40-minute drive away.

Drive

If you are local and plan to drive, there will be a small parking lot accessible a 10-minute walk away from the house. We strongly encourage all guests to take Ubers/car shares/taxis to and from the wedding, as we will not be doing a valet service.

Lodging

If you are planning on staying for more than a day or two, we recommend staying on South Beach to get the full Miami experience.

For those coming for a shorter time, or who just want to be close to the venue, we have reserved rooms for our guests at these hotels:

The Biltmore Hotel

The Biltmore is a classic Miami Hotel built in 1926 that is only a 12-minute drive from the ceremony. Click here to book a room.

We reserved a wedding block with group code: 7100

Miami Marriott Dadeland

The Marriot is minutes away from the ceremony. Click here to book a room.

While not part of our hotel blocks, Mr. C Coconut Grove and Hyatt Regency Coral Gables are close to the venue.

Miami Guide

We've put together a short list of some of our favorites for those who want to explore.

Restaurants

  • Macchialina

An Italian restaurant on South Beach with natural wine and Rachel’s favorite tiramisu. The closest you're going to get to Brooklyn-style dining in Miami.

  • 27

Kind of a farm-to-table, revolving-menu type of place in the former site of the iconic Indian Creek Hotel. Excellent atmosphere. 27 is part of the Freehand Hotel and Broken Shaker bar. Between the restaurant and the bar, it’s easy to hang out here for several hours.

  • Mandolin

Greek restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating and people-watching on the border of the Design District.

  • Puerto Sagua

The best (and cheap) Cuban food on South Beach. Also fun photos of celebs eating there, like JT and Britney in hoodies and Uggs being "incognito.”

  • The Bazaar

Pricey but very delicious José Andrés restaurant on South Beach. If you want to ball out and go full white-linen/South Beach/spend-all-your-money-at-a-hotel-restaurant, this is it.

  • Tur

Drop-dead delicious Mediterranean food in Coral Gables.

  • Lung Yai Thai Tapas

A Thai restaurant of some infamy on Calle Ocho. They have a very unique breed of customer service. They don't take reservations so get there early.

Puerto Sagua

Bars

  • Gramps

A good place to sloppily dance to Depeche Mode in Wynwood. They've got a nice size yard as well.

  • Las Rosas

Large goth/punk/new wave bar far, far away from most anything else. Very fun, but don't plan on walking around the general area or showing up before 11pm.

  • Club Deuce

Basically the Cantina scene from Star Wars if it took place on Miami Beach. This is Justin's favorite Miami dive bar. It's been around since the dawn of time and the iconic neon beach scene that dominates the interior was originally installed for an episode of Miami Vice.

  • Ball & Chain

A particularly authentic bar to dance to Latin music on Calle Ocho. They've got a band shell in the back that looks like a giant pineapple. Karoake is hosted in said pineapple on Thursdays and people really bring it with the ballads.

Club Deuce

Beaches

  • 12th Street Gay Beach

The most famous gay beach in Miami – featuring some of Florida’s finest and most shirtless men.

  • Crandon Park

If you want something more chill than the non-stop spring break of Miami Beach beaches, Crandon Park on Key Biscayne is a good option. It's got beautiful large white sandy beaches just like Miami Beach. There's also an outdoor bar/restaurant that serves fish tacos and pina coladas.

  • Matheson Hammock

This is a good option if you're in the South Miami/Coral Gables area. Kind of hidden away and never crowded. You pass through a mangrove forest to get there and there are some cool Coral Reef structures from back in the day.

Cultural Stuff

  • Rubell Museum

Probably the best art museum in Miami. If you go to one museum while you are in Miami, make it this one. It also has a fancy restaurant because of course it does.

  • Perez Art Museum

An excellent modern art museum and an architectural beauty. This museum is right on Biscayne Bay in Downtown, a quick ride from South Beach. The restaurant is pretty good too and you can sit out on the bay.

  • Fairchild Tropical Garden

A giant tropical garden with several different micro-eco-sytems, from swamp to desert to rain forest. There's an abundance of 5ft+ lizards that call the lakes here home. Fun fact: Justin's father Mark's first job was here and they still visit pretty much every time he is in Miami.

  • Vizcaya

Early in Miami's history there were a lot of people trying to set the tone of what it would be. This oceanfront mansion and grounds were intended to frame Miami as the next Venice. That didn't quite work out, but what was left behind is pretty cool.

Rubell Museum

Activities

  • Jet Ski on the Bay

1 or 2 hour jet ski tours of Biscayne Bay. There are a bunch of random places you can go to like the abandoned (most likely haunted) marina, the super-rich people islands and a snorkeling spot.

  • Top Golf

A gamified driving range. There's several targets and different games you can play (or you can just hit the ball). You get your own little bay thing with a table and they serve you food and drinks at your golf bay. You can hang in the golf bay with your golf bae.

  • Shark Valley

Shark Valley is a 16-mile bike trail through the Everglades. They rent bikes there so you don't need your own. Despite the name, there are no sharks but there are plenty of gators.
